ABOUT

Mark Nicholas is an author, illustrator and paper engineer who lives in South Wales.

After a successful career as a modelmaker in animation, product design, and architecture, Mark found himself on the cusp of a new creative journey.  In 2017, he graduated from the Cambridge School of Art with an MA in Children's Book Illustration, fulfilling a lifelong passion and marking a pivotal shift toward a career in creating children's books.

 

Whilst studying he went on to win both the Lara Jones Award and inaugural Carmelite Prize. 

 

The Story of Tantrum O'Furrily, the first picture book Mark illustrated, written by Cressida Cowell, published by Hodder was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal and longlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize in 2019.
