ABOUT

Mark Nicholas is an author, illustrator and maker of children's who lives in South Wales.

After a successful career as a modelmaker in animation, product design, and architecture, Mark decided to start a new creative journey making Children's Books.  In 2017, he graduated from the Cambridge School of Art with an MA in Children's Book Illustration, fulfilling a lifelong passion and marking a pivotal shift toward a career in creating children's books.

 

Whilst studying he went on to win both the Lara Jones Award and inaugural Carmelite Prize. 

 

The Story of Tantrum O'Furrily, the first picture book Mark illustrated, written by Cressida Cowell, published by Hodder was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal and longlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize in 2019.

 

Now specialising in linocut art and paper engineering, his creative journey is evolving into a vibrant, playful, and exciting new direction.
